The Chestnut Inn is a proud member of the Delaware Highlands Lodging Program. Each reservation directly supports the protection and preservation of our healthy and beautiful lands, clean waters, and abundant outdoor recreation opportunities.
The Program works as follows: A $2.00 donation automatically added to each reservation is contributed directly to the Conservancy to support its conservation mission and assure that all the special places, scenic beauty, and outdoor recreational opportunities that bring tourists to the Upper Delaware River region are protected now and every time they visit in the future. Guests may opt out, but the successful launch of the program shows that very few have.
The Conservancy works in partnership with landowners and communities to protect the healthy lands, clean waters, and quality of life in the Upper Delaware River region. The Conservancy focuses as well on supporting locally sustainable economies.
For more information on the Green Lodging Partnership Program, please call the Conservancy at 570-226-3164 or 845-583-1010 or email info@delawarehighlands.org.

No, the American Chestnut is not completely extinct, but it is no longer viable in its native habitat, including near the Chestnut Inn in New York. Chestnut sprouts still grow for up to 10 years; however, they eventually die due to the blight that eliminated American Chestnut as a source of lumber.
The Chestnut Inn is built in the American craftsman style. Similar to the other Settlers Hospitality Group properties, this property was inspired by the British Arts & Crafts movement. Its large front porch, white wooden paneling, dark shutters, and shingle roofs are characteristic of this style.
When the building was constructed in 1927, it was named Hotel Monoquaga. In 1989, the Maines family, the former owners of the property, renamed it “The Chestnut Inn.”
Yes, there is a seasonal resort fee applied in addition to your room rate for each day you stay at The Chestnut Inn. You will see this fee when you go to the checkout page.
